Michael S. Vaughn, M.D.

Michael S. Vaughn was raised in Homewood and attended Berry High School (Hoover High now). He went to the University of Alabama on a Mechanical Engineering Scholarship and worked as a Mechanical Engineer for three years until he decided to go to Medical School at UAB. Graduating in the top of his class he was voted the Outstanding Senior Medical Student at UAB. Dr. Vaughn is Board Certified in Preventive Medicine and takes a keen interest in nutrition, vitamins and exercise. He is a member of the American College for the Advancement of Medicine which is the leading alternative medical society. He is also a member of the American Academy of Anti Aging Medicine and the American Association of Family Physicians. Dr. Vaughn is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Family medicine for UAB. He and his wife of thirty years, Sandra Johns have 6 children and live in Inverness. Dr. Vaughn is a Bible believing Christian and feels that the Golden Rule is the basis for his practice of medicine. "Treat others as you would want to be treated."
